Bobby Helms released “Jingle Bell Rock” in 1957, and  it has been part of the Christmas-Holiday season on radio, films, TV programs, commercials, and video games, ever since.  Helms’s original version of this song by Joe Beal and Jim Boothe, went to #13 on the U.S. Billboard’s Most Played C&W by Jockeys chart. It crossed over the from the Country to the Pop chart in 1958, going to #11 in the Cashbox Top 60.

Bobby Helms was the professional name of singer and guitarist Robert Lee Helms, from Bloomington, Indiana. Some of Helms’s other popular songs were “My Special Angel” and “Fraulein.”
