Rhythm and Blues
The song “You’re So Fine” features some beautiful singing from this R&B group (with a bird name) from Detroit. The song was written by Lance Finney, Willie Schofield, and Bob West. It was a million-seller for The Falcons, going to #2 on the R&B Chart and #17 on the Billboard Top 100 in 1959. The Falcons formed in 1955 and saw their share of personnel changes over the years. At different times, members included Eddie Floyd, Joe Stubbs, Wilson Pickett, and Mack Rice.
There have been numerous artists who covered the song. There are versions by Johnny Burnette, Boz Scaggs, Wilson Pickett, Ike and Tina Turner, and Tony Orlando, to mention a few.
